Season Two of ‘Wu-Tang: An American Saga’ Finally Has a Premiere Date

Following months of teasing and plot reveals, season two of Wu-Tang: An American Saga is officially in the book.

According to a press release, the show will return for a sophomore run on September 8th with not one or two, but three episodes, adding a new installment every subsequent “Wu-Wednesday.” Both RZA and Method Man are back in the executive producer slot for the new season alongside Brian Grazer. The abbot recently revealed the show’s incoming season will center on the recording of 36 Chambers, as well as all of the internal and external drama surrounding the creation of the group’s classic debut album.

“The Clan is disillusioned with life in the projects, and Bobby knows that success in the music industry could be their ticket to better lives. But getting the Clan members to drop everything for music isn’t easy,” reads a description of the new season provided by Hulu. “The resentment between Dennis, Sha, Power and Divine still runs deep, while the other Clan members struggle dealing with intercity life. This time around, Bobby is dedicated to authenticity and though he knows he can lead his crew through the challenges of the music business, the Clan’s fractures may prove too much to overcome,” the synopsis adds.

And while the crew is mostly reassembled for season two, it appears it will be down at least one member of the original roster. Per a Deadline report, Joey Bada$$ has parted ways with the series after appearing in three episodes as Inspectah Deck. Uyoata Udi (Watchmen,) will be stepping in. Udi won’t be the only new face in the crew. Curtiss Cook Jr. is set to portray producer and architect of the group’s iconic logo, Mathematics, while Gbenga Akinnagbe (The Wire, The Duece,) has been cast as Wu-Tang’s first manager, John “Mook” Gibbons.

Tune in on September 8th for the premiere of the first three episodes from the new season of Wu-Tang: An American Saga. Revisit the first season on Hulu today.
